Description
Eco-Drive | Purposeful Power The sustainable way to power your watch—no batteries required. Citizen’s proprietary Eco-Drive technology powers your watch using the most renewable energy: light. Light to Energy Uses a renewable natural resource by converting any natural or artificial light to energy, which is then stored in a permanently rechargeable lithium-ion cell. Energy Storage Keeps surplus energy in a rechargeable power cell. Designed to charge not just from the sun, but also from everyday light sources like indoor fluorescents and desk lamps. Recharges Continuously Runs for months—even in darkness—with no need for regular battery replacement, so your watch can run forever and you never have to worry about it stopping. Read more

Good watch but I returned it because it was clearly worn by someone and the leather band was crimped in two spots, neither of which was the position it shipped in.I won’t make this into a *really* long review because I have little to actually say about it other than that I like it a lot overall but here are the things I dislike:1) The second hand doesn’t move unless you’ve started the chronograph (your stopwatch function)… or that’s what you’ll initially think because instead of the large orange second hand, its actually the small lower dial (centered) that’s constantly ticking. It’d have made more sense to me for the two to be reversed. Personal preference really. I don’t have poor eyesight but my eyes are drawn to the orange second hand first anytime I think of actually checking the second hand, then I realize it’s the other one. Minor nitpick, but that’s why you’re reading this, right?2) The chronograph is finicky. Often times I think I’ve started it only to glance down ten minutes later to find that it either stopped without my noticing or that I didn’t start it when I thought I had. I think it’s partially due to the button being easy hit by mistake but that is exacerbated by not having much of a ‘click’ when the button is pressed to give you a tactile sense of whether you’ve really started or stopped your chronograph.3) The date is also confusing to set. I literally don’t know how to do it without looking it up because pulling the dial at each click interval doesn’t seem to adjust the date, just the minute/hour hands. At one point I had it correctly set, but then February happened *shudders*. Now I’ll have to google it and you know how difficult it can be to type words into a text box— who has time for that? Do I? Lemme check the date. Yep, I got three whole days before that end of the month report has to be done… waaaait. This message was brought to you by a mostly terrestrial ape of irresponsible origin and the support centers for attention deficit disorder, procrastination, and insomnia. Please help. The watch is cool, too.Have been looking for a while now for a watch that caught my eye that I could add to my collection. Well this one did! However the band not so much (not a fan of leather bands). It looks good but I found it very stiff. Probably would loosen up over time but didn't want to wait for that to happen. Anyway swapped it out with a Alpine soft rubber band and am liking it a lot. The only thing I don't care for on the watch is that the date is kinda small and hard to read. Other than that I like this time piece. It looks good. It was just exactly what I was looking for.Love the watch and would give it a 5 except for how dull the luminous hands are. Not bright at all and difficult to tell time at night or in other low light environments.Leather strap is still rather stiff after several months of wearBeautifulOverall the watch is well made and the band is thick. Many bands with holes in them are thin, whereas this one has substance and quality. My only gripe is there appears to be a significant sheen to the crystal face of the watch. Thus it makes it harder to read at an angle. However, it is one of my favorite watches.Awesome watch! Wear it every day!- Eco-Drive (not worried about battery drain when using the chrono)- Vintage style- Good size for larger wrists- Nice colour combination (but not for everyone)- Date window hard to read- Chronograph keeps less than one hour- Crown is unsigned, plain...- Top pusher sometimes clicks, sometimes does not. Bottom pusher always has a clickThis is a nice looking watch. First time having a Eco-Drive or a Citizen watch. It's a nice size and easy to read at a quick glance. Also the buttons to set the time and the chronograph buttons work smoothly. It's a very simple to use and little to no maintenance watch except for a cleaning every so often. I replaced the leather strap which is "nice", with a thick canvas strap because I feel a black strap works well with the colours on the face of the watch and the bezel. My hands are in and out of the water alot so the leather strap would not work for my situation. If you happen to be like me and regularly wonder what time it is, this product can help. I was tired of always having to reach for my phone, especially if my hands were dirty, just to know what time it is. This product has given me back so much time by keeping my curiosity at bay with a quick glance at my wrist. No more reaching for my pocket to pull out my phone with chicken grease all over my hands just to find out If happy hour is over. This is my second Citizen Eco-Drive purchase. I also have the Promaster diver but there is little comparison to this watch. There are a few faults such as a date box that is hard to read at any angle and a really bad Lume that is only on the hour and minute hands and nowhere on the dial. The leather strap is stiff but I'm sure will loosen in time. It's very comfortable on the wrist and the black matches well with the watch face. The Chronograph works well and resets to the 12 position without any adjustment. The best reason for the purchase is the Eco-Drive and its accuracy. So far it's been keeping the exact time as the Promaster. I store them in my watch case near my window so they're always charging. I'm still happy with the purchase but can only give 4 stars because of the faults listed above. Citizen watches are still a good buy in my opinion.I am a fan of Citizen and their Japanese/Swiss history. It is a quality timepiece that is priced easily1/3 below its worth.I would have liked to see a Sapphire crystal which is not unreasonable at this price point with todays synthetic technology. It has a mineral crystal which may shatter at very low or high temperatures, like up here in Canada where we get to -30C.Overall I am happy with the purchase and if you are looking for a stylish, quality engineered watch at a reasonable price then you should like this watch also. Compare to a Timex Tx line in design
